any - No Fault but still At Fault claim - oldroverboy

Earlier in the year had a very minor scrape on a roundabout when some one pulled out in front of me and lightly scratched my car, then drove off, but i followed and stopped him, and when he became abusive and HE wanted to go to the local police station, and then in front of a policeman refused to give me his details, (was obliged to) and then 5 months on is claiming for whiplash from an impact speed of 1-2 mph. as above liability is disputed, after investigation my insurance company have rejected the claim (do not consider me at fault) and also added that they will pursue it as a fraudulent claim. but it is worse than watching paint dry, and in between times trying to renew with an outstanding incident is a nightmare. Just trying to get written confirmation of things is almost impossible, and getting them to sort it out is difficult. The difference in premium for me is actually in my favour even with 2 lost years of ncd, ( I have gone elsewhere at renewal and declared the "incident" ) and they would be paying out, so it's their money, not mine, why not defend their client instead of forking out THOUSANDS!

This is where an in-car camera is worth its weight in gold.

My claim against someone who damaged my car was wrapped up in 5 mins in a nice little video which stopped any dispute instantly ! even though the other party got a solicitor involved. I would love'd to of been a fly on the wall when they found out there was video evidence !

Its a shame there have been quite a few on here that have said its CCTV gone mad and its overkill , but it left me smiling, saved me shed loads of agro all for £200.00 £50.00 less than my excess, and my NCD in tact ! and my blood pressure stayed mormal LOL

I have done just that and bought one, cost £30, no gps, but my policeman friend says speed can be pretty well estimated anyway, and in the case of my "incident" would have sorted it out as fast as yours. thanks for the confirmation of my thoughts, It is brilliant.
