Mini First - Gearbox clunk - Neil Bucks

My 2010 Mini First 15,000 miles has developed an intermittent clunk from the
gearbox when engaging gears going up or down the box with either slow or fast
clutch release. The dealer says the noise is a feature of this box is he
spinning me a line?
