toyota auris 1.6 petrol 2008 - k+n air filter - forevered

can anyone tell me if fitting a k+n air filter will benifit my toyota auris 1.6 manual petrol in any way, eg performance, economy etc , and will it affect my insurance ?

Question 1 depends on whose propaganda you believe, my personal opinion is they are a waste of cash, you need to spend a lot of cash to get more power from a normally aspirated engine. Insurance possibly yes.

I recall reading a report that said they do let more air through than a standard manufacturer's filter because they've got bigger holes.

That means they also let more dirt through.

They can be an advantage if you've made other modifications that can benefit from fitting them.

Take your air filter out and see if it makes any difference.
