Hi guys

I have recently bought a Citroen Synergie 1.9td.

It starts ok but doesnt drive brilliantly, it seems as if the turbo is only working 50% of the time, on the motorway it will fly up one hill and then completely die on the next slowing to 55 or something ridiculous even with my foot flat on the floor, when it dies like this it emits white smoke.

On tickover there is a loud rattling / scraping noise which is heard better from the passenger side of the car but again this is not there all of the time. there is also a booming kind of noise from the engine although it appears to be ticking over very nicely.

Air filter is clean. Oil and cambelt were changed recently.

Any ideas would be great as this was meant to be a cheap car and any problems i shall have to fix myself as cant afford the garage bill.

And finally where is the rev guage sensor as rev guage is not working?
