Nissan Qashqai - Turbo Whine

Nissan Qashqai - Turbo Whine - Dave CR

I have just purchased a 1 year old Qashqai 2.00dci 4x4 and can hear what I believe what may be a turbo whine. Should I be concerned and how should I aprroach the dealer or Nissan?.

Dave, did you ever get this problem or annoyance resolved?

I have a 2.0dci which also has a loud turbo. Its not blown, but is pretty annoying...

The car pulls well, with no smoke... I must admit it feels a little dead at real low revs.

I believe these cars have varible vane turbos and I woner if the loud whine is to do with something being wrong with the variable vane systrem.

Gav, just seen your response, ta.

Mine has a slight whine when first touching the accelerator but with no noticable loss of power. I have not progressed it yet with Nissan or my local independent garage but the car is due a service in the next month or two and will update this posting then.

If accompanied by power loss, could be a split or partially detached torbo pipe.

Eventually had turbo replaced by Nissan under Guarantee.
