Had my corsa from new. It is a 54 plate 1.0 engine.
Was working fine for five and a half years then started to leak oil and make a noise in the engine.
A vauxhall garage fixed it for £670. They fixed the timer chain, breather hoses etc.
The car went wrong again and started making a really loud noise in the engine. Took it back to the same garage and was told it needed a new engine at a cost of £3200.
I wasn't happy so I employed an independant expert from DEKRA expert to go to the garage to look over the engine. They concluded that the garage should have inspected the engine more thoroughly the first time it was in. This meant the first repair was pointless.
I sent letters to the garage and credit card company requesting damages of £670 be paid back to me. The garage refused. I took my car away.
A week later the garage offered me a rebuild of the engine and would deduct the £670 from the overall cost. I paid £600.
The rebuild was done after three and a half weeks. The car broke down a day after collecting it on the m25, white smoke pouring from the exhaust and a knocking noise in the engine.
I'm wondering if any of the mechanics were actually qualified to do the work on my car?!
