01 2.0DTi - engine management light flashing - vectra2001
my vectra started to flash the engine management light the other day net day i started the car there was no power and the and it was very very sluggish i red a few forums and it said i should get it code read i have now done this and the error came up saying

booster valve voltage high

problem is it was a friends reader we used and i have been trying for a few days to find what could be the fault and how to go about fixing it

is there any one out there that can help me sort this problem i know a mechanic but hes quite new to the game and tells me if i can find out what needs doing he will sort it out i tried the paper clip trick but didnt have it and have tried clearing the error via the reader but to no avail

please please some one help me its a 2001 2.0l dti vectra facelift model

That's because the paperclip trick only works on petrol engines (and only up until around the yr 2000)

Was the code reader used compatible for the car?

ye it was a snap on solai not sure how you spell it

any ideas what it could be i really need it sorting but dont want to throw loads of money away but going on the trial and error route

Maybe the 'press the gas and brake pedals down and then turn the ignition on' method of reading blink codes would work on this model year?

thanks all for help and advice i had it plugged into a diagnostic at vauxhall as a friend let me use it on his lunch break feel i owe him a big drink and after checking everything it turns out i have a faulty solenoid and this will be getting changed tommorrow so hopefully i will get speed back and wont have to see that engine management light for a while so close to pulling the bulb out hahahah

How lucky are you ? I wish all of my past Vectra problems had been so easy to rectify !Just goes to show though-Modern cars need to be plugged in to a computer-It takes out all of the (expensive) guess work out- Good Luck.

... if only ;-) . It still takes a brain and past experience to work out the root cause of the problem, generally the PC is just listing the symptoms.
