I need some help here people!
Going to get straight to the point!
My mum is registered keeper of the vehicle, as her name is on the log book. I am a named driver on the vehicle. (car was bought for me)
Now i have decided to part exchange the car for a brand new one and myself as the registered keeper of it.
All i want to know is, when i give the log book over the dealer, does the registered keeper of the car have to sign anything for it to be signed over to the dealer, taken that im selling the car over to them!
Need help asap.
Many Thanks
Dave

Pretty sure the registered keeper needs to sign section 9 of the registration certificate, although you could probably sign 'Mickey Mouse' and the DVLA wouldn't notice.

Your need for help will be resolved by speaking to the 'Dealer' ?

I've looked in my records of past car order forms, and noted that I had to declare that I was the owner of the car being part exchanged. You can prove you're the owner, can't you? You only say that "car was bought for me".

I'm certain the registered keeper is the one who has to sign the log book - take your mum down to the dealer and get her to sign the appropriate part of the dealer stuff!

just put a wig and false nose on with some norra batty leggings and bluff your way through at the dealers
make sure all the paperwork is the correct colour though so a swat team dont get you as you drive away
