Having explored the cost of extending my warranty on the Picasso 1.6HDi, after the expiry of 3 yr manufacturer warranty I completed the WD on line application. The quote came out surprisingly expensive, so I decided to do nothing.
However, having left contact details on the web site, I was not surprised to receive a call, offering a further 20% discount. I have deferred the decision for 48 hrs so will try to negotiate a further discount when they call back.

I found the warranty direct offer was identical in price to an extension of the manufacturers offering, probably reflecting that a 'real' warranty will not be cheap as they may have to pay out. Some easy negotiation saw £150 knocked off the manufacturers warranty, and that included another years AA cover. Worth a try perhaps?

I certainly wouldn't run a French common rail diesel with a particulate filter without some sort of warranty! I use WD and haven't claimed in 2 years - yet! I pay about £250 a year
