08 2.0D Recall or Service Damage to Sump? - Glaikit Wee Scunner {P}
Colleague just had the first service done to a Grand Vitara diesel at a main dealer. He was also told there was recall work on the 'pipe between the turbo and the manifold'.
When he got home , after a 30 mile journey,oil was dripping on to the driveway and the oil level further dropped, off the end of the dipstick, overnight. No leakage pre-garage visit.
Garage retrieved the car and subsequently reported the sump was cracked. All very courteous and loan car provided for several days. Fixed under warranty.
Any ideas what might have happened? Jack under the sump to enable the pipe to be changed is a possible. The engine undershield would have revealed any impact damage.

I would guess the dealer did something that they shouldn't have and managed to crack the sump. Hence why it was changed with the minimum of fuss and 'under warranty'!
