Think my car is destined to be an L. Was thinking recently of changing for a 2.2 diesel Mondy, but that will still be around £175 a year so, although a couple of hundred pounds a year cheaper, the hit I've taken on the 3.2 Veccy and the cost to change makes that difference less significant.

I think the Mondy would be more fuel efficient, and still pretty nippy, but with diesel costing so much more I'm not sure there would be a huge fuel saving - and only 1 insurance group lower...

My S111 Hyundai Coupe emits 'only' 193g/km so it will increase by about £60 per annum. Not too bad really. Getting 37mpg which is still better than the combined official mpg.

Mine goes up from £170 to £260, because I bought a car that does more mpg than my old one (Pre 2001, so tax was Less than £170). IF I change to a more fuel efficient tax bracket car, no doubt a retrospective tax increase for all non electric cars will be bought in, so what is the point? Hopefully Motorists will see their increased tax around election time and will vent their thoughts through the ballot box.

Mine's going up from £205-£300.

So that's £95 less a year I'll be spending in the economy, or saving for my future.

Cheers, Alastair. I look forward to playing my part in putting you and your cronies out of a job at the next election. The others might be no better, but it will be so satisfying to sack you that I'm prepared to take the chance.
