Hi folks, wondering if anyone might help me with this one. My brakes seem to be a bit temperamental: I have already replaced the vacuum pump with a quality second. If I want to stop suddenly, it seems that the pedal is going immediately down to a stopping point after which I seem to be using my bodyweight and strength to get the right level of braking, really having to tread on it hard sometimes. Gradual braking from speed seems to be fine, but sudden braking at slow speeds requires quite some effort. Someone I know who seems to know a lot about such things said that if the servo had gone, I would have heard some hissing, but I can't hear any noises out of the ordinary. Any clues??
Cheers

I would advise getting down to Kwikfit or someone and ask them to check the braking system through, its too important to mess with, you could try this or try that, but if in the meantime you splatter a child, your life, and others, will be ruined. Drive carefully.
