All,
How does being a victim of road accidents that arent your fault affect your insurance. I have been in 3 accidents in the last 3 years, none of which were my fault. All third partys have admitted liabailty and my NCD have no been affected.
However my colleagues at work seem to think that I am high risk and that my premiums, none of them are experts in insurance. My insurance is due in July and am 25 this year with 6 years no claims, so hoping to be a bit cheaper.
Any one with any experience of this? Do they mark your card as having an unclean record?

It makes no difference to your premium or NCD if you recover all your losses from the thrid party. You could have 10 accidents all non fault and it would make no difference, (after they have been resolved) during the resolution period you may get a premium hike but it will be refunded to you when you are found to be in the clear.

NoFM2R will give the definitive answer but my understanding is that it WILL adversley affect your premium. Any involvment in an accident is an indicator that your exposure to risk is higher than average. Hence an increased premium.
This could be something as simple as driving (or parking) in a high risk area, 'fast' driving resulting in dimunition of your personal safety zone or just poor appreciation of what is happening around you.

That is not neccessarily true.
Its all about cost, risk and probability. And a risk assessment would suggest that you are driving in a hazardous environment, at hazardous times, in a peculiar manner or are just downright unlucky - all of which impact the underwriter's assessment and may well affect the premium charged.

If you drive for 5 years and have no accidents at all you are deemed a better risk than someone who has driven 5 years and had say 3 No Blaim Claims (3rd party Insurance paid out in full for each accident).
That said if you have 5/6 yrs NCB you would be deemed to be a better risk than most other drivers on the road for your age.
