i have recently bought a 306 (2001) and have noticed on the passenger side rear door there is some rust appearing under the weather strip (on the lip of metal)
this is tracking under the paint on the sill and feels loose underneath. I was wondering if this would be covered under the 12 year warranty?
is it worth trying to get this covered? if so how does it work? do peugeot need to see it or do i take it to a bodywork specialist that is peugeot approved?
thanks

IIRC any paint / corrosion warranties are only valid if there has been an annual check done and noted at the time?

Not all manufacturers require annual checks.

And it's often only for perforations from the inside out. So corrosion due to chips etc isn't covered.
|
Check also that it's not the result of previously repaired accident damage. Compare it very carefully to the other side of the car.

This sort of damage would be under a paintwork warranty, if one existed. Paintwork warranties are rarely longer than 3 years. As has been stated, the corrosion guarantees are usually no perforation guarantees.
