If an insurance company chooses not to insure me because I'm under 21, is this age discrimination?

PS - yes, I'm still searching for a bearable quote, CIS has stopped offering "Any driver" policies.

If they have really turned you down then you could have an even bigger problem with the question "have you ever been refused insurance" that most companies seem to ask.

I once wrote to my MP and insurer about insurance sex discrimination, they are specifically excluded from the equality laws (at least they were a few years ago, 1000s more laws since then!).

CIS
has stopped offering "Any driver" policies.


I've been with CIS for 40 years and although they did "any driver" policies (which I've got) the premium was always higher for under 25s.
