Peugeot 406 Coupe 60,000m Service - pmr
Hi,

I have a 2001 Y-Reg coupe (the V6 model) that is coming up for its 60,000 mile service. Now that the extended warranty has expired, I'm inclined to take it to my local garage (proven to be honest and reliable) rather than pay the premium and get my local dealership to do it. Is there anything I would be missing out on by doing so? Peugeot talk about specialist equipment, etc, but I don't know how significant that is. On the other hand,
I don't want to take it to the local garage and find they miss something a Peugeot dealer would have spotted.

Any advice (or pointers to relevant threads) appreciated.

I had a Laguna V6, the problem with big engines is access. Spark plugs and cambelt tricky to do. I suspect the same will apply to the Pug.

What about a good independent Peugeot specialist?

Might be a good option if I could get a recommendation. I'm in Marlborough, Wilts.

Bit far but CPS (Citroen Peugeot Specialists) in Bradford-on-Avon are good.

pmr,

I bought my Pug at 3yrs old. As it had full PSH I wanted to maintain this. Peugeot offer a service at selected garages called 3+ club. The cost of services is very reasonable. Other things like brakes, clutch, exhaust, tyres etc I would go elsewhere as you can fit OEM parts a lot cheaper than the Pegeot 3+ club prices. If your local dealer doesn't have a 3+ club, it may called Express Fit. If it has neither, then I suggest you call around other dealers in your area or ring Peugeot direct to give you the info. I have used Express Fit (now called 3+ at some places) for the past three years. I still have full PSH.

It might be worth having a look on the www.peugeot406coupe.com forums to see if any members there can recommend a good garage..
