Removing anti rust wax - Frogeye
The dealer sprayed a coat of clearish anti rust wax on my Stag's alloy wheels as I had to make a long trip on salty roads. I am now trying to remove it, white spirit does not seem to touch it, any suggestions please.

Ask 'the dealer' whoever they are. White spirit is usually effective on such stuff.
Think that vehicle preservative wax is removed with some kind of jet wash. Be cautious when dealing with possibly old paint.
The roads are still very salty round here though.

pressure wash with mix of hot water/parrafin mix is what M Dealers used to use..probably still do?.

neat parrafin will remove the wax, just make sure you well soak in water afterwards to remove parrafin..even brake cleaner will

An elderly chap I once knew used to polish his old Rover with diesel and swore by it. He was in the forces during the war and apparently it was common practice to use it on military vehicles. He said it helped protect against rust.

Think I'll maybe stick to Autoglym for the C5 mind you, and put the diesel in the tank where it belongs!

Many thanks. I will start with the meths, as it seems the cleanest method and I always loved the smell!!!

Would something specifically for wheels be any good such as Autoglym's Clean Wheels? www.fasteronline.co.uk/Autoglym-clean-wheels-trigg...l

One of the old tricks was Parafin or petrol with care with the fumes. Remember this was the way to clean the old type oiled Air Filters, many moons ago.
