NCD tots up for 'named driver' - martint123
I've just seen mention that Direct Line now tots up years as a named driver on one of their policies as qualifying years for NCD (for one of their policies).

I managed to get, back in 1997, a full introductory NCD from Direct Line for my wife as she had driven accident free on my Direct Line policy for only 2 years when she was insuring her own car.

The only caveat was that if she made a claim she would have lost all the discount in one fell swoop.

Looks like we were either lucky or they have now reduced it to only the years accumulated as a named driver.

I read this and thought it could be a useful, here is the article:

This might be a good route for a low use young driver to obtain a lower starting quote on their own policy.
