My friend is about to renew his car insurance. he has recently had an accident that cosht his insurance company £5000 and now has 2 convictions on his liscense, Code AC10 - failing to stop after an accident and AC20n failing to report an accidnet within 24 hours, each giving him a grand total of 8 points. Previous to the accident, his insurance cost him £500 a year, now his renewal is £2100!!!! with norwich union. Does any one know any cheap car insurer? long shot i know. Any help is appreciated.
BTW he has lost his NCB. THANKS!

I don't think you'd find any "cheaper" insurance with those kind of endorsements.
I think your mate's best bet is simply to do the old fashioned thing and shop around.

I would not want a "friend " like that. Try one of the specialist brokers who advertise in the back of one of the Go Faster magazines (Max Power?)
(I mean the ones who sell insurance of course)

There are those who advertise in the Yellow Pages that appear to specialise in convictions etc.
The other option your friend has is to downgrade his car to something else whilst he works his NCD up again, and/or explore TPFT and high excesses.
Like others on here I feel that this chap may just have to put it down to one of life's lessons. He's lucky he's not got a DD conviction, at least he can still drive legally.

Your friend has gained two convictions, a high number of penalty points and also lost his no claims - i think he should resign himself to a few years of high premiums.

So, fails to stop after an accident which was his fault - presumably driving off and leaving some poor sap in the cart with a damaged car, and then fails to report an accident - even after the heat of the moment wears off the conscience doesn't kick in so he still leaves some poor innocent person in a mess and he wants help from strangers in reducing his insurance premium - despite trying to cost someone else a load of money in an accident and not caring about it - and obviously not a trivial accident because once he was caught it cost his insurance company £5,000.
