Audi A3 Remote Central Locking Problem - Tmack
I've recently had to have a new key programmed by Audi for my 98 Audi A3 1.6 SE. The key now works in ignition and in the door but the remote central locking doesnt work. Apparantly there is a problem with one of the modules in the foothold which will take three labour hours plus parts to fix, something I'm a little loathed to pay. Apparantly its caused by damp getting into it, something like that. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to resolve or who else to go to to have this problem corrected?

I'm doomed to an eternity of having to put my key in the door or spend in excess of £300 at an Audi garage arent i!!

Not neccesarily.
There is a procedure for resetting the remote locking from the fob - which is totally different in function to the immobiliser.

Did the remote locking work before the new key whas done ?
