Golf GT Tdi 110 hot starting - J.B.
My Golf GT Tdi 110bhp (T reg) starts perfectly from cold, but hot starts often require lots of churning or more usually its better to turn the ignition off, wait 30 secs and try again which is usually immediately successful. I've tried both waiting, and not waiting for the glow plug light to extinguish but that seems to make no difference. All I can think of is perhaps air in the fuel line, but wonder why cold starting is ok because the engine was obviously hot when it was shut down the previous evening, and I don't see that waiting for it to cool would miraculously get rid of any air bubbles that might have formed. The only other slight problem is a small dieing of power passing through about 2800 rpm on moderate to swift acceleration but it may not be connected. Any ideas guys?

Definately worth replacing the small O ring seals on the fuel filter connection - easily damaged - could open under when things get hot, perhaps?
