age of car, not yourself ;o)

btw, before the pedantic comments start....
There's no option for "on a ramp".
|
I will definately take my ford Ka to our Ford main dealer again because the guys over there will show you what needs to be fixed & replaced with you before the work commences!

Its not what you drive, its how you drive it! :-)
|
I have 3 cars.
One of them is main dealer serviced, one is maintained by a local garage and the third I do all the work on.
HELP!
|
The question "where" should be answered by a place, but the 3rd answer ("DIY") is a method, not a place ...
[/pedantry]

When 'er indoors wants to know where I'm going, I say "into the DIY" not "into the garage"! ;-)

And what about the mobile servicing mechanic who does all three of my cars? I've treated him as an independent garage, although I'm not sure he'll like that.
|
There's no option for type of service. I do a minor one on the clio myself and major ones at a dealer.
HOw do I answer that one?
|
Sheeeesh.
You guys (and gals) are hard to please ;o)
|
There is no option there which works for me.
Could you please add;
Where do you generally have your car serviced (regardless of age)?
4) the nearest place to the car when it went wrong.

But if it went wrong, you're having it repaired, not serviced!
|
Au contraire my moderating friend. What if he broke down due to something like the spark plugs and decided "Right - that's it. I'm going to get it serviced". They would service the car, thus repairing it.

But Mark never maintains or washes his cars, so the chances of him actually getting them serviced are fairly remote.
|
Touche!
Fair point - I'll let youhave that one.

So maybe the fourth option should be "Nowhere", or "What's a service?" or "My name is Mark"
|
or
"I don't have a car"
;-)

or "I don't have a car"
or
"What's a car?"

I have to say it before patently or NW says it,
or
What's a service?

What's a service?
How would any of us know what service is? This is Britain, where the concept of service only exists in its ironic form as "customer service", which is a euphemism for a jobsworth deployed to fob off the customer with forms and excuses and platitudes.
[Here endeth the off-topic rant!]

That's it, go on, knock Great Britain. How sad for someone to have so little faith in their fellow countrymen. I'm just pleased that there were enough patriotic Britains ready to fight for the freedom of our great country and our great people in two world wars.

I have great faith in the people, but very little in the corporate structures in which they work.

The results of this weeks poll are:-
Poll 33. Where do you generally have your car serviced (regardless of age)?
Main dealer = 55 (45%)
Independent garage = 35 (28%)
DIY = 31 (25%)
|
It's a rounding error by the poll software. Can't knock it as it's free.
