Hi
I currently have standard 14 inch wheels on my 1997 416si.
As I need a new set of tyres and wheel trims anyway was considering looking for new alloy/ tyre setup.
Do I have to buy Rover , or would most sets fit
Can I fit 15 inch alloys ( seen some Rover ones advertised ) instead of 14inch ?

Found most of my answers , looks like 15 inch OK as tyre profile is lower ie 195/55/15
rather than 175/65/14
the studs span are different on different wheels ( these being 100cm), so better with either Rover 400 alloy or via a dealer who will check it out

Pitch Circle Diameter (PCD) is the stud pattern. You also need to consider the offset. It can be extremly dangerous to get this wrong!

Ebay or alloy wheel specialists/breakers will have OE Rover wheels, often taken off perfectly good cars that have had wheel upgrades.
