hi everyone,
last week i was told that the mark 4 ford fiesta has the brake cable and clutch cable in one!
can anyone elaborate on this?
|
sounds unfeasable to me, would result in the brakes coming on everytime you changed gear...
|
Probably means clutch is hydraulic and therefore shares the brake fluid rather than cables. Certainly is the case on my Ford Mondeo, it's the same fluid reservoir for both clutch and brakes.

The brake cable you talk about would be the handbrake cable.clutch cable will be seperate.even if the handbrake was hydraulic and built into the main brakes would need seperate cylinders to operate.but even on most that I know of handbrake has nothing to do with brakes ie by pedal it is seperate.dont know where they got that from?

Clutch is hydraulic: no cables...

Clutch and brake share the same master fluid reservoir a hydraulic hand brake is not legal for obviuos reasons. Regards Peter
