Hi all, I need advice on how to fix plastic bumpers? My Dad has just bought a Rover 200, pre bubble shape, under a grand, so no big shakes, car is great so far, apart from quite a bad dent to the bumper which is the later colour coded design. Does anyone know if and how easy it would be to DIY fix? He isn\'t looking for A1 condition he just wants it to look a tad better.
Thanks in advance.

hi BMDUBYA,
you may be able to push it out a bit from behind,if you first heat the area to soften it a bit with the judicious use of a hot air paint-stripper gun, this may result in having to respray the area a bit with an aerosol can afterwards, alternatively you could key the area, fill to shape with plastic padding and re-spray, or get one from a "scrappy"(any colour)and respray that to match.

Hair dryer ( Note hot air guns are too hot) and a tennis ball applied to the back. The ball spread the load and avoids stretching the plastic. Some bumpers are back filled with foam and ideally you will need to cut a chunk out in the area of damage to get access. No not use inflammable glues if you want to put the foam back as it will melt the foam. You can just use some expanding foam then push the chunk back into place. Regards Peter

Thansk all for the excellent tips, please keep them coming in. As I said, my Dad doesn't want an A1, so respraying with aerosol paint is fine.
