PH taxi - Gap Insurance

I've recently purchased a 2nd hand car on HP which I'll be using for private hire, already have PH car insurance, can anyone help with the following questions,

Car price £7000, add finance £8800, what policy do I need, vehicle replacement plus or back to invoice, finance over 5yrs

Is it worth having excess policy cover, my own PH insuranc has £1000 excess, ALA offers excess cover, but only for the 1st year

Lots of adverts on Google for PH / taxi gap insurance, does anyone have a recommendation?

You would need finance type GAP , not return to invoice, but watch out for max age and mileage limits. You will need to get several quotes but I doubt that if the car is £7000 that you will get 5 years cover for private hire.

Most GAP policies cover some excess for the duration of the policy, or separate excess cover policies are available , Watch the small print!

Thanks for the info, the car's 5yrs old, HP is 5yrs, if I can get 4yrs cover I'll be happy

Hardest part is knowing which is the best company for cover
