Peugeot 106 - BobbyG
My sister\'s 106 has just failed its MOT with a broken rear axle! She knew nothing about it, has never been in an accident or anything. Anyone else heard of this happening?
Hers is an R Reg diesel.

This needs an explanation. I'm sure a 106 has no rear 'axle', and anything it had at the back which broke would make it hard to drive to the testing station?

A 106 is front wheel drive. There is NO rear axle: just a crossbeam on which the rear suspension is mounted. This is VERY unlikely to be faulty: even my wife's 9 year old one has its original paint.

Get the MOT fail certificate and read it: it must detail cause of failure..

Looks like I have picked her up wrong, I will check and post back.
Sorry guys!

I believe it is the cross beanm at the back, took it to 2 other garages for second / third opinion, both said highly unlikely but then when they checked it , both agreed with the original diagnosis.
Actual fail was for excessive wobbliness in rear wheel which turns out to be stemmed from the beam.
