Honda Jazz SE - Insuring a car bought with PCP - SamG
I am buying a Honda Jazz using PCP Personal Contract Purchase.

Insurance are asking if I am registered keeper and registered owner. This is a little confusing.

Am I the registered keeper only but not the registered owner ?

I have asked around and I am getting various opinions regarding this but surely with the amount of cars financed via PCP deals these days then it should be quite clear.

It would be great if I could get some clarification for this as I want to avoid any issues in the unlikely event of a claim.

Thanks

AFAIK there's no such thing as registered owner - the registered keeper is whoever is on the V5C.

PCP/HP doesn't make a difference in this case - the finance company registers a financial interest, which would show on HPI checks.

Tell your insurers that it's on finance, that's all they should need.

Important point you are the registered keep and the pcp company are the owner.

The person on the log book is not neccessarily the legal owner

You simply tell the insurance that you are the owner and the vehicle is on finance (if they ask)
