I have recently bought a 1998 Pug 406, the back light illuminating the clock is out and also the light illuminating the odometer/tripmeter is out but is ok at night once i put my lights on.
Could anyone give me some advice on how to get the clock out and how to get behind my instruments to change these bulbs.

There are three torx screws in the top of the \"plastic unit\" in front of the speedo/ tacho/clock. Remove these, then lower the steering column on the adjuster, and then pull the whole plastic piece out. (This extends from the nearside middle vent to the offside vent). It may seem as if you are going to break it, but it just clips in except for the three screws.
Then if I remember! there are x number of screws holding the speedo head in. Undo these and the unit comes out in your hands. You will find the bulbs on the back of the speedo head. Replace as required. If you want to to take it into the house to do this, carefully take the electrical connections off first.
Good luck.
