Same Insurance Company - jamie2012

Hi All

So I have had a non fault car accident which has resulted in quite a bad injury to myself, I have just got off the phone to the insurance company, who said they will pass my details on to a third party and they will cover any legal fees as it on my policy,

however when they notice that the other car was insured with their company they said that they can deal with everything in house and not have to get a third party involved and would save me any legal fees.

Would this not be a confict of interest ? would they not just try and do everything to save the company money ?

and advice of what to do ?

My guess is that I think your right any Ins Co will attempt to minimise it's claims - thats a given. Conflict of Interest - true but I belive they would assign a different Claims Underwriter to each party and anyway will have in place procedures to mitigate this. Aka 'Chinese walls' so tbh I wouldn't concern myself with this.

Do not get a sleazy 'Claims Management Company involved'. ClaimsRus etc who will now be phoning you for the rest of your natural....

Instead look for a decent Personal Injury Lawyer (I believe the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers APIL site might be a place to start). Eg Fentons (I don't work for them) but you make your own choice.

Welcome to a couple of years of idiot Doctors assessing you etc and legal mumbo jumbo before you might get some recompense.

Hope you feel better soon anyway.
