Supagard - Hero
I bought my car under a year ago absolutely mint condition. Decided to get winter tyres and get them to apply Supagard inside and out.
They picked up my car and I got it back the next day. To my horror it was all scratched. When I called The dealership where I bought my car and whom I asked to apply the Supagard they said "oh but Supagard will enhance any scratches". I advised them that the car did not have any scratches on it before this and was noticed upon its return. I then asked them if the car had scratches on it and was going to enhance them why did you not come back to me and advise me that this was not a good idea.
Mmmmmm. Not happy. Has anyone else had this awful experience.

At best Supagard costs the dealer max £50 to apply and he charges you £??? Nothing you couldn't do your self in half a day and I have never heard of any problems other than silly costs. One can't enhance a scratch - emphasis would be more like it!

More than likely the person who applied the gold dust was wearing a ring or had some metal in his clothing such as a zip to cause the scratches or dropped the duster on the floor.

Any Supaguard type product is only as good as the person who applies it. It sounds like somebody with little experience or a careless attitude applied yours.

Suggest you insist they take it back to how it was before - this might involve electric buffing with a fine compound.

Put your concerns in writing to the top person at this dealer and clearly state what remedial action you are seeking.

I believe that Supagard is only any good on a brand new car, rather than one which has had a year's use.

For what its worth, in a rash moment I spent £18.99 on a bottle of 'Armor all Shield', spent under an hour applying it and after 2 months the car is still shiny and beading rain like a duck's back. ( I have no connection with the maker or Halford's where I bought it)

I've bought 2 new fords from different dealerships in the London area in the past couple of months. They both were promoting "Diamondbrite" for applying to both cars.Similar stuff to Supaguard. Each asking £400 to apply inside and out. Something that's plugged by the sales people because of commission.( along with GAP insurance and finance).

I wriggled out of it and paid under £100 for a full kit from the Diamondbrite website. At least I can do it myself and do it properly. There are enough ***tube videos and internet sites to guide you through applying the process. Just waiting for this bleeding rain to pause long enough!

Just waiting for this bleeding rain to pause long enough!

Should have done it last year - it's not going to stop raining this year !
