Nissan Primera 1.6LX - NissanNewbie
could anyone please tell me if a 1994 M reg nissan primera 1.6LX should have remote central locking, i have just purchased said car and on the keyfob there is a button for locking and also a button for unlocking, this operates the immobaliser but not the locks.

Your help would be appreciated, David Jackson

Does the central locking work with the door key?

Am I seeing double here? NissanNewbie asks a question about his central locking not working with the remote, then later asks himself whether the central locking works with the keylock. Confused or what?

I think he was trying to clarify his question, which, I think (possibly wrongly) was meant to be SHOULD the central locking be operated at the same time as the immobiliser, by the fob button.
I don't know the answer, but I ran a 1997 Primera (later, facelifted shape) from new and the locking on that was operated remotely from the key fob. It had an immobiliser, but I am almost certain that was switched on when the key was removed from the ignition and off again when the key was put back in the ignition. Nothing to do with the fob switches at all.

Hope this helps NS

Maybe Andy. But the 1st NissanNewbie signed off the end of his post as David Jackson, the 2nd NissanNewbie signed off as Rich. That's where I'm confused. Is it possible for 2 different people to have the same username, but use different email addresses to log in?

No its not. And in this case irrelevant since both were written by the same person. However, Rich may not have been a name so much as a partially deleted sentance.

If you can, it would be nice to help.

Ok, sorry for causing so much confusion, this was caused by my father, I am David Jackson, 19 years of age, proud owner of a nissan primera, the confusion was caused by my father richard jackson logging in on my account and trying to "help". He beleived my first question was not clear enough. The actions taken have resulted in my original problem not being solved and everyone wondering what was going on. Again, sorry for the confusion caused.

Ok David, that's that mystery solved :o)
Back to your question, or in fact your Dad's - Does the central locking work with the door key?
Is there any writing on the remote keyfob, a manufactuer's name other than Nissan for instance?

ok, there is no other writing on the key fob, the central locking does work when the key is inserted into the door lock, there are no buttons on the key itself only the seperate fob. The fob deffinately opperates the immobalier as the car will not start without pressing the unlock button. Could this be a problem with the fob baterries dieing before i owned the car and the fob not being reprogrammed correctly?

The reason i asked this question in the first place is because on the parkers car guide model history it says the r/c/l is standard on my make and year of vehicle.
