Winter weather brings out the idiots - badbusdriver

Saw this on the news yesterday,

Then this morning while driving through the town of Ellon i saw a car waiting to come out on to the main road with, i would say about 80% of the windscreen (and about 100% of the remaining glass) opaque due to frost and ice. Beggars belief that folk wont spend a few extra minutes warming up the car and clearing the glass, at least enough to see where you are going!.

Don't know where in the country you are, but i suspect the magnets wouldn't be strong enough to stop it blowing away during the stronger winds round this neck of the woods!

Ah, i live in a coastal town in Aberdeenshire, if i go outside my door and turn left, the North Sea is at the bottom of my road, about 200 meters away!.

I got a magnetic frost cover from a local DIY for £8.....

I cut a sheet of heavy polythene just oversize for the screen, then shut the front doors over both ends. Cost zero, and it is probably better secured than by magnets. May take 30 seconds to attach instead of 20.

I have CrossClimate tyres, just waiting to road test them in snow!!

Also have a telescopic long handled brush to clear the snow from the roof / bonnet before driving. As long as it is not frozen on that is!

lucky you, pleased to read your comment, all the snow had gone by the time I left the house this morning (07.20am) and this evening the snow came to within 20 miles to me but no nearer!
