named driver accident - dcarr2

My daughter is named driver on my vehicle and has recently had accident in her own car. Do I have to report this to my company irrespective of her circumstances or will it do at next renewal application, please?

The accident will certainly be a he said she said affair, no witness and only bodywork.

Yes. The outcome fault/no fault will need reporting when known, why would it not?

Yes you do and the fora by which insurers exchange information mean it is almost certain that, if they look, your insurer will be able to see some detail of the claim.

As an example, like you I have my daughter as a named driver. While seeking renewal quotes for my policy in January Admiral could see not only details of my own year old claim for damage by a car park barrier but also my daughter's history. And not just for my vehicle. They had information linking her to a claim in May 2014. That was nothing to with us. Her boyfriend, on who's car she was also a named driver, had been in a shunt outside his Uni digs.

On the day in question she was at a different University 200 miles away.
