Fiat Punto 1.9 HGT year 2004 - After replaced new spring, ride height too high. - fv43576

Today my car have took to the garage and replace all new spring and damper. When I come collect and I look to my car looks ridiculous too high like 4x4. I said to the mechanic are you sure you put the right spring? he said it is correct spring and it will takes a month to drop to the normal level.

Is this true? The new spring is about 2.8cm high than before, my car is sport front is little bit lower than the normal Punto 1.9JTD Dynamic. I don't know if they have done wrong or whether I have to take my car back to the garage?

Why did you have the spring/s replaced, but you didnt say whether 1 or 2 it reads as 1,

as old springs weaken the ride height gets lower, and usually when replacing, both are done to even the front/rear out, if only one is fitted it will be lop sided hence why people usually fit both sides

It does usually take a while for springs to settle down,once they do you it will lower a bit

OP did not mention if It had been lowered/standard or what, without more info we would be guessing,all that was mentioned was Sport which could mean anything

I would suggest OP goes back and rechecks with garage saying not happy with it

So it's 2.8 cm higher than before, 28 mm - that's just over one inch, and this is a problem? Sorry I don't understand!

I have no idea what a HGT model is but, the KYB springs catalogue shows a few different springs for the front end of a 1.9 JTD so maybe the garage have fitted the wrong springs?

I don't have a lot of experience of this, but, yes, I would say so. It suggests to me the springs that have been fitted are out of spec or are at least different in spec from what was there before.
