What's the best van-based MPV?

I bought Citroen Berlingo Multispace XTR a year ago. I love the concept and the space. It suits my country life and the two dogs love it but the automatic gearbox is poor. I am thinking of swapping it...

What van-based MPV would you recommend?

Are there any alternatives to the Citroen Berlingo and Peugeot Partner. I need the spacious boot with low back entry and windows but I think these two are too tall for my garage.
