When does a classic car become MoT exempt?

When does the 40 year tax and MoT exemption begin?

From May 21, any vehicle more than 40 years old will be exempt from both the MoT test and road tax. The tax classification won't happen automatically, you'll need to fill in section 7 of your V5C and return it to the DVLA. You can find out more about the MoT exemption here: classics.honestjohn.co.uk/features/general/classic...w.
