I bought a used Peugeot 407 which has worn steering bearings. Should the supplying dealer repair it?

I bought a four-year-old Peugeot 407 with a one-year warranty two weeks ago. I found worn bearings on the steering, plus a problem with the clutch release bearing (thanks for your help on that one). The mileage was verified as 47,000 via your site. Is the garage responsible (a main dealer) or should the warranty cover this? Early enquiries seem to indicate that the warranty is unlikely to pay.

The garage is wholly responsible. It can fix the car or give you your money back. It, not you, has those two choices. See: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights
