What is the best short term insurance cover?

I have an old, low value car that I would like to use for a couple of months in the summer. I expect to do less than 200 miles in it and would like to know the most cost effective way of insuring it.

The best thing to do is contact a broker, but there are other alternatives. As long as the vehicle is off the road whilst parked, I would use a pay on use policy like Cuvva: cuvva.com/ They cover cars, for a monthly fee, that are parked on the road as well. Another company is called ByMiles: www.bymiles.co.uk/. Alternatively, if you have access to another vehicle as well, you may well find the premium is very low.
