What do you think of the Audi CVT Multitronic gearbox?

I am considering an Audi 2.0 saloon on an 06 plate, which has a CVT automatic (Multitronic) gearbox. Has anyone got any views on this type of automatic?

It's beautifully smooth and great to drive, but versions with the 6-plate clutch can fail prematurely.
