Is it fair that I've been given a parking ticket?

When paying by phone, I inputted my car reg using lower case letters. This was sufficient for POPLA to find that I had failed to pay and so issued me a parking penalty.

It's a nightmare inflicted on the public as a money-making scheme, but the only significant case on Clause 56 of the Protection of Freedoms Act validated the activities of the parking enforcement companies. Only a fresh Act of Parliament can change the situation.
