Would I be better to buy my motorhome before the April VED tax changes?

I plan on buying a new motorhome with the latest Euro 6 Blue HDi 2.0-litre engine but the new VED tax table doesn't cover motorhomes. They are sort of vans but cost more than £40, 000, so would I be better to buy it before or after April 1 2017?

From April you'll be hit with the full £450 a year VED, from the second year. First year VED remains CO2 based. Unless a vehicle is in stock it's highly unlikely you will be able to buy and register it before April, but obviously beneficial if you can register it in March on a 17 reg.
