Is my Vauxhall Zafira still a fire risk?

We need an unbiased opinion. Our 2013 Vauxhall Zafira B has done 16,000 miles and been totally trouble free. Just recently the fan heater resistor has been replaced by our main Vauxhall dealer. Can we now lose our concern of the well documented problem of overheating leading to a fire?

Yes. The problem is not resistors that have not been interfered with. If the car has been fitted with a new windscreen and if this has not been done properly, water from the screen drip s into the heater motor which will then only work on maximum speed. The bodge to make the switch work on all settings was to bridge the resistor and this, of course, caused the wiring fires for which Vauxhall was semi-unfairly blamed.
