Should I fit winter tyres or Autosocks to my Skoda Roomster in winter?

I live in North Yorkshire, surrounded by hills, and I am planning ahead before the winter. I have a Skoda Roomster and I am considering fitting winter tyres or Autosocks. Which do you consider to be the most suitable?

Winter tyres on a separate set of wheels fitted from November to March. You can get a set for your Roomster for about £450.
