Is there a cheaper alternative to the £450 paint protection I'm offered with my new BMW 5 Series?

I have been quoted £450 to have my new BMW 5 Series protected - this seems very expensive and I am doubtful that it is worth the money, as the car will be low mileage and will be kept in a garage. I recall you advising on this subject in your newspaper column but cannot find the subject on your website. What do you advise? Is there a cheaper home service?

Yes, I only recommend a few treatments, in 'Useful Websites' under parts and accessories.
