Are Powershift DC being phased out in favour of torque converter boxes?

I am thinking of replacing my Ford Mondeo with something newer. I would like an automatic Ford, but am coceredn about the long term reliability of the Powershift gearbox. A local dealer has advised that Ford is quietly phasing it out, notwithstanding the move to wet clutch from dry clutch dc boxes.

On line I can find no reference to this, although I understand the new Focus 1.5 petrol auto has a torque converter box and at some stage other Fords will also go the torque route.

The lower torque dry clutch Powershift has been phased out of the Focus 1.0 EcoBoost 125 and the Focus 1.5 EcoBoost 150 and replaced by a 6-speed torque converter auto, but so far remains in the 1.5TDCI. The 2.0TDCI would have the stronger wet clutch Powershift. The Tourneo Connect 1.5 Ecoboost always had the 6-speed torque converter auto. manufacturers never 'announce' the replacement of an unreliable component for fear of liability suits.
