What should I be wary of when buying a used Toyota Prius Hybrid?

I'm thinking of buy a Toyota Prius 1.5 Hybrid automatic with cruise control and have noted that they have a standard manufacturer's warranty of 100,000 miles or eight years, so one over three years old with 60,000 miles on the clock should still be good under warranty. Hybrid technology is still in its infancy and batteries are becoming more reliable, but what should I be wary of and what else should I consider?

No. Only the hybrid drive system and battery remains under warranty past three years. But there is very little to go wrong on a Prius. Fewer parts and no engine strain on the Atkinson cycle engine. Toyota is seeing some used as taxis with over 400,000 miles on them.

Much better than the original. An enjoyable, practical, safe, economical hybrid. Looks good, too. Prius Taxis have run to 400,000 miles plus with very little trouble.
