Buying a Skoda Superb - Manual or DSG gearbox?

I am thinking of buying a new/nearly new Skoda Superb petrol estate due to imminent retirement and a drop in annual mileage to 6000 a year. The reviews seem very positive and I am looking for a car with a comfortable ride suitable for the odd Europe tour as well as daily local driving.

I will keep this car for 5 years+ and would really like an auto, but I am nervous about a DSG gearbox (although I could extend the warranty). My questions are:

1. DSG or Manual - what do you recommend for long term ownership
2. Is the manual fitted with a DMF? Is this likely to be a problem?
3. Is the 1.4 150 engine man enough for the size of car and is it a belt or chain engine.
4.Any other suggestions?

1. Definitely manual.
2. Don't think the 1.4TSI has a DMF, but don't know for sure.
3. The 1.4 TSI 150 pulls 130mph in 4th so that answers your question. It's belt cam.
4. If you want a big estate, that's your best choice until you start looking at the new Mercedes E Class or new Volvo.
