Used Family Car - Mazda 5 or Mazda 6

Hi HJ
Having looked at you top 10 used family cars for £7k I'm liking the look of the Mazda 6 Estate

We prefer diesel and just need 5 good seats and decent boot. I have also noticed the Mazda 5 as a more MPV like offering

Which do you think is the best model and are there any versions to look out for, in my price bracket it seems to be mostly 2009-11 models with 50-70k mileage

Thanks

Matt

Best to avoid the previous model Mazda 6 because it is highly prone to DPF and oil system problems. The Mazda 5 1.6dTS2 is okay, because it uses a 115PS 8 valve development of the PSA/Ford 1.6HDI/TDCI and 6 speed transmission that work very well together. The car has an astonishing combination of rider comfort and handling. I ran one for a year: www.honestjohn.co.uk/our-cars/mazda-5-16d-ts2/
