Why won't Ford contribute more than 20 per cent to a DMF repair on my S-Max?

I bought a Ford S-Max 1.8 TDCi from Ford Direct. I have done 80,000 miles in the car and the dual mass flywheel has failed. It is just out of the Ford Direct warranty but still in the manufacturer 3-year warranty (which expires end of July 2010). All my mileage is motorway, at 150 miles per day. Ford have offered 20 per cent off the cost of the replacement part, but nothing towards the labour. This still leaves me having to pay £436 for the flywheel, plus the clutch and all the labour. Is this typical and reasonable, or is there anything else I can do to increase the offer?

Actually, that is fair because even if the car is less than three years old it is still 20,000 miles out of the 60,000-mile warranty. £436 is very reasonable for the repair/replacement.
